Our Team
Brad Tucker is a Bluestem Equity Founding Partner.
He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Pipeline Machinery International, which provides equipment and support to the mainline pipeline construction customers operating around the globe.
Brad practiced law at Wood Campbell Moody & Gibbs. He also has prior experience in public accounting at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC).
He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with high honors from Southern Methodist University and a J.D. degree from the University of Houston.
Brad is very active in the Houston community. He serves on the Texas Children’s Hospital board of directors where he is a former President and Chairman. He is also a director of the Brookwood Community and the Rise School of Houston.
Todd Fisk is responsible for ‘leading the leaders’ across all Bluestem portfolio companies, with an everyday focus on the executive and administrative functions of the company.
Todd has held leadership positions that span divisions including machinery sales and rental, product support, power systems sales and administrative departments.
Todd earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and is an active member of the community – involved in various charitable and educational organizations. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman.
Sam Tucker’s previous professional roles have included work within the Industrial Services sector, including implementing training programs, merchandising and sales management and various other leadership roles. Sam has also led closer coordination of our machinery/rental and financial marketing activities for the benefit of our customers.
Sam is also a member of Pipe Line Machinery International’s Executive Advisory Council and Strategy Councils.
Sam graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s in Communications and Business Management.
Scott Shackouls is the Chief Investment Officer for Bluestem Equity where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investments as well as providing ongoing oversight to Bluestem’s existing portfolio of investments. Prior to joining Bluestem, Scott served as the Chief Financial Officer for Sage Rental Services, The Johnny Carrabba Family of Restaurants, TRCW, and T-Rex Engineering & Construction. He began his career working in various roles at Amegy Bank and Encore Bank.
Scott graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in Corporate Finance.
Ben Tucker is the Vice President of Business Development for Bluestem Equity where he is responsible for the sourcing and vetting of all potential investments.
Ben has served various roles within the industrial services sector.
Ben has a bachelor’s degree in business from Louisiana State University and a master’s in finance from the Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Ben also serves on the board of several of Bluestems’ portfolio companies.
Kurt Hanson is the Sr. Vice President & Chief Legal Officer for Bluestem Equity. Kurt oversees all legal functions for Bluestem and its portfolio of companies, including enterprise risk, banking relationships, and integration into the Bluestem systems. Kurt has also served as head of legal, credit and human resources departments in the industrial equipment sector.
Kurt has a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law. He enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking, golf and spending time with family and friends (especially on Galveston Bay).
Scott Grass is the Chief Credit Officer at Bluestem Equity. His roles and responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating and underwriting investment opportunities, as well as monitoring and managing the existing portfolio. Previously, Scott spent nearly fifteen years at Main Street Capital Corporation, the last ten of which was spent in private credit, managing a book of over $1B of direct loans and minority equity positions.
Scott received his B.B.A. in Finance with a concentration in Global Energy Management from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. Scott is a graduate of the UH Honors College and was selected as a Terry Scholar. Today, he serves on the Terry Foundation Board of Directors and serves as chair of its Investment Committee.
Michaela Lenderman is the Integration Analyst for Bluestem Equity, managing operations and building positive company culture within Bluestem and the different companies in its portfolio.
Michaela graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from Stephen F Austin State University but found her way into the Construction Machinery Sales Industry post-graduation.
Michaela came to Bluestem with three years of operational experience in the industrial services sector, where she became well versed in process analysis and excellence standards.
